Devon Mystery Tour
49 Clients and carers recently enjoyed a fantastic day out on a Devon Mystery Tour courtesy of Dream-A-Way.
We left Exeter at 10am and travelled via Bovey Tracey and past
Haytor Rocks, arriving at Widecombe in the Moor for a brisk walk in
the beautiful spring sunshine.
After our walk we visited the Wayside Cafe for tea and coffee before
heading back across the moor to Babbacombe.
A walk on Babbacombe Downs to work up an appetite was followed by
a late lunch at Hanbury's Fish and Chip Restaurant just off the
Downs.
Hanburys is a multi-award winning Fish and Chip restaurant and
takeaway, which recently won second place in the National Fish &
Chip Awards 2012.
The Hanbury's experience was superb and all those who ate were delighted with the food, service and atmosphere. What's more, Hanbury's owner David Hanbury very generously provided all meals for free! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly, helpful and professional staff who made us all feel very special. The fish, chips and mushy peas really were sumptuous and we can’t wait to return for another Hanbury Experience.
Chairman Jeff MERRETT said : “This was our first visit to Hanbury's and we were stunned by the wonderful welcome we received and delicious fish, chips and mushy peas served to all of our clients and carers. David Hanbury very generously provided our lunch completely free of charge which is so appreciated in the current climate. I love fish and chips and I can categorically state that the Hanbury’s experience will take a lot of beating! We will be back!”
