Dream-A-Way Annual Ladies Golf Day 2010

The 8th Dream-A-Way Ladies Golf Classic took place at Stover on Thursday 1st July 2010.


The event was hugely successful despite the weather deteriorating later in the day. The ladies all received complimentary ice creams kindly supplied by Langage farm. The event raised around £3,000 bringing the total to over £20,000 in just 8 years. 123 lady golfers from all over Devon took part in a Stableford team and individual competition .

The team winners were (L-R) Ann Hazelwood, Paula Cowl and Anwyn Breading from Fingle Glen Golf Club with a team score of 92.
They were presented their awards by (L-R) Sir John Evans, Dream-A-Way Patron; Jeff Merrett MBE, Dream-A-Way Chairman and Main Sponsor Rodrigo Villegas of the Andalucía Tourist Board.

They won the MITIE Cup and Spanish Golf holidays kindly donated by the Andalucía Tourist Board.

The 2010 individual winner was Judith Boyle from Exeter Golf Club with a score of 43.
Judith won the MITIE Individual award and a golf holiday from the Andalucía Tourist Board.

Event organiser Debbie Bent said “It was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed their day out at Stover. I was delighted that we raised such a huge amount of money to support the work of Dream-A-Way. I would particularly like to thank the co-organisers Gill Freeman and Jeff Merrett and our many prize donors and sponsors. I am looking forward to an equally entertaining tournament in 2011”.

The next Dream-A-Way Annual Ladies Golf Classic will be at Stover Golf Club, on Thursday 30th June 2011.
