Dream-A-Way Mardi Gras Ball

June 19th 2010 saw the return of the
Dream-A-Way Annual Celebratory Ball.
Held at Sandy Park, Exeter the theme for this year was Mardi Gras
Carnival.
Over 220 guests attended the evening and were treated to the delights of the Devon Jazz Ambassadors whilst enjoying complimentary arrival drinks on the Sun Terrace. Claude the Waiter was on hand to welcome the guests in his usual inimitable fashion, including handing out beads to some rather unsuspecting guests!...

A wide range of entertainment was on hand including a
Juggler, Table Magician and Drag Queen.
With a bright, vibrant theme there was no end the the outstanding
outfits worn by our guests, all of whom were dressed to impress.
After taking their seats indoors, the guests were treated to a three
course Cajun/Creole themed meal, catered once again by the excellent by
Posh Nosh.
As is now tradition, the meal was followed by complimentary tea and coffee
whilst the guests joined in with Irish Bingo.
Dream-A-Way auctions always attract a great deal of attention and this was
no different. A vast range of lots were available including a week in a
five bedroom luxury house in Florida, a signed Martin Johnson canvas, and
an extra special lot, in the form of a tour of the Exeter Recycling
Centre, a free composting unit and a tour of the town in Exeter City
Council's very own Denis the Dustcart!
Later in the evening, guests were treated to music from local band Limited Company featuring Killer Heels. The band played a wide range of songs from various decades from the 70s right up to current day hits. Guests danced the night away to two sets from the band.
The popular MITIE Casino made an appearance again, and guests were able to enjoy a chance to gamble for fun in order to win a TV. The winner at the end of the evening with $650,000 was Scott Sterry, pictured below with Dream-A-Way Chairman Jeff Merrett MBE.
Dream-A-Way is pleased to announce that due to the kindness and generosity of all those who helped, supported, sponsored and attended the ball, we have raised a fantastic total in excess of £8000!
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone for your kindness in helping us to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
The next Dream-A-Way Annual Ball will be held on
