STAGECOACH STAFFS’ CHARITY RAFFLES RAISES ALMOST £700 FOR DREAM-A-WAY

Stagecoach South West employee Paul Gordon was the driving force behind two recent company raffles which raised almost £700 for Dream-A-Way

The raffles were held at Stagecoach’s Christmas parties in Exeter and Teignmouth and raised a total of £683.00.

Paul, a bus driver with the company, nominated Dream-A-Way as the beneficiary and, with the help and support of his colleagues, provided over a dozen prizes donated by organisations including Exeter Chiefs, Exeter City Football Club, Woodbury Park and Segway Southwest.

Paul said “I’m happy to do anything I can to support Dream-A-Way and I’ve been involved in both fundraising and helping out with the holidays for a number of years. This is a fantastic local charity and 100% of the money raised goes directly to supporting its activities.”

Jeff Merrett, Chairman of Dream-A-Way, commented “Dream-A-Way is always pleased to be associated with established companies such as Stagecoach. I’m extremely grateful to Paul and his colleagues for their generosity in helping to raise such a huge sum of money. This will all go towards holidays for people with serious illnesses or those living with disabilities.”

The cheque was presented to Jeff by Mike Bishop, Stagecoach’s Engineering Director, who added “I’m delighted Stagecoach is able to lend their support to this local charity – I hope this is the start of a long and fruitful relationship!”
