The Committee:

Chairman - Jeff Merrett MBE

I am extremely proud to have been the Chairman and Trustee of Dream-A-Way since the beginning.

When we started Dream-A-Way in 1993 none of us imagined how successful we would be.

Fundraising has raced passed one million pounds and we have helped well over 10,000 local people to enjoy a day trip, outing or dream holiday. All without any honoraria or expenses being paid to any committee member or trustee.

This has only been made possible by the support of a small but very hard working committee and the generosity of our many sponsors and supporters.

Our events continue to maintain the high standard we have set and are always enjoyable and successful.

Why not help us to help even more special people by joining our Friends of Dream-A-Way group?

Thank you for your support - it really is appreciated.

Keep smiling,
Jeff

Vice Chair & Secretary - Robert Beer

I am proud to be a founder member and Trustee of Dream-A-Way. I am also the Vice Chairman and Secretary.

To be able to help people who are in need of holidays and respite from difficult times is so rewarding to me.

I am also very proud that DAW can still boast that 99p in every £1 raised is used directly on purchasing holidays and outings for disabled people.

Events Co-ordinator & Trustee - Gill Freeman

I am immensely proud to have been a committee member of Dream-a-way for the last  8 years.

It is so rewarding to be part of such a dedicated team and to see at first hand the very real benefits we are able to give to our deserving guests.

I am very fortunate to be able to help by doing what I enjoy most in planning events.

Our golf days and balls have been hugely successful thanks to the continued support of our Friends and sponsors. We all look forward to keeping the fun in fundraising at some great events in 2011.

Any ideas for future events will always be very gratefully received.

Trustee & Treasurer - Darren Galliford

After many years of helping to raise funds for Dream-A-Way in various guises (losing weight, losing my dignity on the Barnfield stage, etc), I was very proud to be asked to join the DAW committee in 2009 &, in 2010, to become the Treasurer & a Trustee

To be part of such a dedicated team that really does make a difference to so many people is truly rewarding ... & we do have a bit of fun along the way

Trustee & IT / Website Administrator - Steve Beer

I have been involved in Dream-A-Way events for several years now, and was invited to join the committee in 2006.

In 2012 I was honoured to be invited to become a Trustee of Dream-A-Way and I hope that my knowledge and enthusiasm will enable me to continue to make a difference in my new role.

I enjoy the challenges presented to me and the satisfaction I get from helping those less fortunate than myself is extremely rewarding.

Alongside my role as a Trustee, I am the Dream-A-Way IT & Website Administrator. This role gives me the opportunity to ensure all our website visitors, friends and sponsors are kept up-to-date whilst sharing in celebrating Dream-A-Way's successes.

I am proud to be associated with this excellent charity and its wonderful people.

Friends Co-ordinator & Committee Member - Tina Kingdom

I have helped out with Dream a Way on a casual basis over quite a few years, rattling buckets at sports matches and at the Pantos- " Oh Yes I Have!".

I really wanted to do more and was more than happy to allow Jeff to gently coerce me into volunteering for the committee.

I co-ordinate the collection and recycling of newspapers and magazines, which, with the support of our local council has raised us many hundreds of pounds in a very short time.

I am thrilled to be a more active participant.

Committee Member - Les miller

I am delighted to be a committee member of Dream-A-Way. I have been overwhelmed at the joy of raising money towards a fantastic cause and humbled with the gratitude of those less fortunate.

The holidays we provide have given special people many special memories that they will treasure forever. I have had the privilege of working with an amazing group of dedicated people that strive to a level of professionalism that allows us to give 99 pence of every pound to the cause.

I regularly use my talents as a magician to support Dream-A-Way.

Committee Member - Ruth Smith

Having been involved with Dream-A-Way - the Lord Mayor of Exeter's charity in 2010 I was delighted to be invited to join this well established local charity.

As a retired school teacher I have met many children who struggle to cope with the demands of day to day living.

To help so many special people to enjoy many of the things we take for granted makes it all worthwhile.
